Español

My Spanish is getting better and better. All of the tenses are kind of hard because there are so many of them, but I can understand more and more of some songs in that are in Spanish without the lyrics or a translator. I am pretty proud of myself. I am not quite where I want to be yet, with Spanish, but I am getting closer. My biggest problem, I think, is vocabulary. I am terrible at memorizing an entire new vocabulary of another language. There are SO many words. I mean it's a language, so there are going to be, but it's crazy.

I am thinking about going back to school again, after I get my degree for English: PR and Spanish and learning another language like Italian or French. I really want to learn Arabic, though and study Egyptology. French and Italian are both Romance languages like Spanish, though, so they're more similar and I think they would be easier to learn after Spanish. I just like the idea of being not only bilingual, but multilingual. So I want to know at least 3 languages, including English, I think.

A lot of the time, as it is, I find myself using Spanish words daily, out of nowhere, mixed in with my English. Or thinking in Spanish. It would be insanely hard to learn the whole vocabulary for more than 2 languages, though, I think. Especially languages that are so different as Spanish, English and Arabic. I think Arabic would be really neat to know, though, especially if I went into Egyptology. I think that being an Egyptologist would be the perfect thing for me to do with how much I love Ancient Egypt Mythology. I would have to move to take Egyptology classes though. I believe, as I have found, they are only offered in Saint Louis and Memphis. But there is no way whatsoever I would like in St. Louis, so my only option would be TN. But I could handle that, I think. It's Elvis country. I am pretty sure I would survive.
