Americans. Are. Story tellers.

It is impossible to go one whole day without hearing or telling at least one story.

We thrive on story telling.

I realized that today.

It's nuts how burned into our brains that that way of interacting is.

"How was your day?"
"Oh, you know, I did this and this and this."

"When I got to work this morning, blah blah blah blah."

The simplest "What's up?" can strike a century-worth of story telling. It's never:
"How are you?"
"Good and yourself?"
"Muy bueno, gracias."
"De nada. See ya later."
"Adios."

I would love to challenge myself to go one whole 24-hour period without telling or listening to a story. Or even go one day and keep count of how many times I tell/am told a story. It think that could be pretty interesting.

  2. A good tool for network marketing is neural-linguistic programming. On the contrary, using "you" statements helps you build agreement for an idea from your listener.
